Dubbed “Sheikh Who Brings Lovers and Binds Husbands,” the sorcerer received videos and photos from individuals seeking help through spells and sorcery. However, things took a dark turn when he posted the content online and demanded money for removal.
Authorities intervened, shutting down the page operated from Libya, filing legal action against the offender. Cybercrime expert Adil Saqf Al-Hait explained the penalties the sorcerer could face under Jordanian law for offenses like character assassination, incitement to hatred, and blackmail. Mere closure of the page is insufficient as the offender could relaunch elsewhere, making apprehension crucial.
Moreover, Jordan can seek cooperation through regional conventions to extradite the offender for prosecution. Victims can also seek justice in the sorcerer’s host country.
