Congress MP asks Speaker for action against PM, Anurag Thakur for ‘misleading’ remarks

Congress MP Manickam Tagore has raised concerns about alleged misleading statements made by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP MP Anurag Thakur in the Lok Sabha. Tagore has written to Speaker Om Birla, urging appropriate action under direction 115(1).

Tagore pointed out discrepancies in Modi’s claims regarding the Congress’ promises and vote shares in various states. He refuted Modi’s statements about bulletproof jackets for the Army and provision of fighter jets. Additionally, he challenged Thakur’s assertions about arms and fighter jet supplies during Congress’ rule.

Tagore emphasized that the facts presented by Modi and Thakur were factually incorrect and misleading. He called for Speaker Birla to initiate proceedings and take necessary action in this regard.

This communication underscores the importance of factual accuracy in parliamentary discourse and highlights the need for accountability among political leaders.
