At the Lagos Employment Summit organized by the Lagos State Employment Trust Fund, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu revealed that the fund has created 221,000 jobs since its establishment, contributing to significant improvements in the employment landscape of the state. The governor emphasized the importance of initiatives and policies aimed at job creation and youth empowerment, highlighting the LSETF as a key element of the government’s strategy.

In addition to job creation, the fund has also facilitated access-to-market opportunities for over 83,000 individuals and provided industry-relevant skills training to more than 18,000 young people. The launch of the Labour Market Information System further demonstrates the government’s commitment to enhancing the job market in Lagos State.

With a focus on collaboration between government agencies, the private sector, civil society, and international partners, Governor Sanwo-Olu called for united efforts to continue the mission of sustainable job creation and economic growth in Lagos State.

Furthermore, the Trust Fund has disbursed N10 billion to small businesses in the state, underscoring its commitment to supporting entrepreneurship and economic development. As the state progresses on its journey towards a thriving job market, these initiatives are poised to make a lasting impact on the lives of Lagosians.
