The U.S. Defense Department recently announced a new $150 million package of military aid for Ukraine, including air defense interceptors, ammunition for HIMARS, artillery rounds, and more. This aid is crucial for Ukraine to defend against Russian advances, with support coming from current U.S. stockpiles via the Presidential Drawdown Authority.
The Defense Department detailed the additional security assistance, which includes missiles for HAWK air defense systems, various artillery rounds, tactical vehicles, Javelin systems, and funds to purchase interceptors for Patriot and NASAMS air defense systems. Delivery of these munitions will be accelerated to provide Ukraine with the necessary defense capabilities.
