UN Supports Azerbaijan’s Chairmanship of COP29 at ESG Summit
The United Nations, through its Resident Coordinator in Azerbaijan, Vladanka Andreeva, affirmed its commitment to assisting Azerbaijan’s chairmanship of COP29 and collaborating with various stakeholders to address climate change. Speaking at the ESG Summit in Baku, Andreeva emphasized the importance of promoting dialogue and cooperation between public and private organizations to implement sustainable development goals.
Andreeva highlighted the significance of showcasing successful public-private partnership models and overcoming challenges to encourage innovative solutions. She stressed the need for all stakeholders, including government officials, business leaders, civil society organizations, and academia, to engage in discussions on PPP and ESG to achieve climate goals.
The UN Resident Coordinator also underlined the importance of ESG standards, training on ESG reporting, and developing individual ESG strategies to create a long-term commitment to ESG principles in Azerbaijan. Ultimately, the goal is to foster an ESG community that contributes to a sustainable future for all.
