Russian President Vladimir Putin is in Kazakhstan for security discussions and bilateral meetings with leaders from China and Turkey. The Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) summit will take place in Astana, Kazakhstan, focusing on deepening cooperation and enhancing activities within the organization. Representatives from various countries, including UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, are expected to attend.
Putin will also have bilateral talks with President Xi Jinping of China and President Tayyip Erdogan of Turkey. Notably, Chinese companies are reportedly developing attack drones to assist Russia in its conflict with Ukraine. India, represented by Foreign Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, will not attend the summit.
