Learn Amazigh for Free with MOOC IRCAM
The Royal Institute of Amazigh Culture (IRCAM) has launched MOOC IRCAM, a free online platform aimed at beginners wanting to learn the Amazigh language. The platform covers regional variations, including Tarifit, Tamazight, and Tachelhit.
As Morocco celebrates the 13th anniversary of Amazigh becoming an official language, the platform supports the government’s goal of integrating Amazigh language education into primary schools by 2030. It aligns with legal provisions enforcing Amazigh’s official status and complements initiatives to incorporate the language into education, public spaces, and digital advancements.
MOOC IRCAM offers three courses tailored to the major Amazigh dialects, with an emphasis on commonalities. Beginners can access structured lessons, essential vocabulary, practice exercises, and tests to assess progress. The platform also caters to non-Amazigh speakers and those interested in learning another dialect.
