The IDF confirmed the tragic death of Captain Elay Elisha Lugasi, a 21-year-old officer from Kiryat Shmona, who was killed by an anti-tank missile in Gaza City. This loss adds to the toll of 676 IDF soldiers who have lost their lives, with 322 casualties during the ground operations in Gaza.
Captain Lugasi was a team commander in the 7th Armored Brigade’s 75th Battalion, and his bravery and dedication were highlighted by Mayor Avihai Stern, who praised him as a true hero. Despite being injured early in the conflict, Captain Lugasi was determined to return to the battlefield and serve his country.
Additionally, Defense Minister Yoav Gallant visited the Gaza border areas to meet with soldiers from the Technology and Logistics Division. He emphasized the importance of operational and logistical capabilities in achieving mission objectives and reiterated the IDF’s readiness to take action in Lebanon if necessary.
