BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 3. Mukhtar Babayev, COP29 President and Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of Azerbaijan, delivered a compelling video address at the ESG Summit in Baku. The event focused on the importance of Public-Private Partnerships (PPP) in achieving Sustainable Development Goals (SDG).
The minister emphasized the significance of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles and how PPP is becoming crucial in financing green projects. In his address, he highlighted the necessity for investors to adhere to ESG policies to enhance credibility and mitigate risks.
Babayev stressed the collaboration between the government and private sector using ESG practices to drive sustainable growth in various sectors like urbanization, agriculture, healthcare, and water supply. He also recognized PwC’s role in organizing the conference to further these processes.
ESG holds a pivotal role in COP29 negotiations, focusing on inclusiveness and transparent reporting to combat climate change. The minister expressed optimism that PPP cooperation will pave the way for a green world and sustainable future.
