Tragedy in Gaza: Over 8,600 Students Killed, 14,500 Injured in Israeli Aggression
The Palestinian Ministry of Education revealed shocking statistics on the devastating impact of Israeli aggression on the education sector, with over 8,600 students killed and 14,500 injured in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank since October 7.
In a heartbreaking statement, the ministry detailed how 8,572 students lost their lives in Gaza, while 14,089 were left injured. In the West Bank, 100 students were killed, 494 were injured, and 349 were arrested. Additionally, 497 teachers and administrators suffered casualties, with 3,402 injured and over 100 arrested in the West Bank.
The statement highlighted the destruction of 353 educational institutions in Gaza and 57 in the West Bank, including schools and universities. Alarmingly, 133 government schools in Gaza were converted into shelter centers due to the attacks. As a result, 620,000 students in Gaza remain unable to attend school, facing mental trauma and health challenges.
These tragic numbers serve as a painful reminder of the human cost of conflict and the urgent need for peace and protection of innocent lives in Gaza.
