Minister for Justice Helen McEntee has emphasized that domestic and sexual violence is an epidemic affecting all aspects of Irish society.

She praised the courage of victims who have come forward, stressing the importance of keeping this issue at the forefront of discussions and ensuring accountability for perpetrators.

McEntee highlighted the need for stringent sentences for these crimes and the message that all forms of violence will not be tolerated, whether in law enforcement or the Defense Forces.

She underscored the importance of understanding consent and ongoing discussions about it throughout society.
