Kazakh opposition activist and journalist Aidos Sadykov passed away in Kyiv after being wounded in an assassination attempt by two Kazakh residents. Sadykov, who had asylum in Ukraine, was known for his activism against the Kazakh government.

His wife, Natalya Sadykova, accused Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev of orchestrating the attack. One suspect surrendered in Kazakhstan, while the other remains wanted. Ukraine will seek the extradition of the suspects.

Aidos and Natalya fled Kazakhstan 10 years ago and founded a YouTube channel critical of the government. The activist faced imprisonment for political resistance. His death has sparked international attention and demands for justice.
