Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has established a 14-man committee to oversee the coronation and presentation of staff of office to the new Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Owolabi Olakulehin.
The committee, led by the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, Ademola Ojo, consists of various cabinet members including the Commissioners for Culture and Tourism, Women Affairs and Social Inclusion.
Notable members of the committee include the Olubadan-designate’s son, Oba Abiodun Kola-Daisi, and the former Deputy Governor.
The throne of the Olubadan became vacant following the passing of the 42nd Olubadan, Oba Lekan Balogun, two years into his reign.
Governor Makinde approved the nomination of Oba Olakulehin as the 43rd Olubadan and scheduled the coronation for July 12.
