Former war cabinet minister Benny Gantz, who resigned last month, criticized the release of Dr. Muhammad Abu Salmiya, director of Al-Shifa Medical Complex, calling it a lack of judgment that warrants immediate action.

Tensions in Israel have escalated as leaders debate the future of the war on Gaza and a prisoner exchange deal proposed by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Political and military pressures continue to shape the discourse, with differing opinions on achieving goals and handling detainees.

‘Military and Political Pressure’

Netanyahu, along with other officials, vowed to pursue all objectives, including eliminating Hamas and ensuring the safety of Israeli residents. However, opposition leader Yair Lapid criticized the government’s stance on the exchange deal with Hamas and advocated for elections as a solution to the crisis.

The release of Dr. Muhammad Abu Salmiya sparked a debate on security negligence, with accusations thrown at the Internal Security Agency and conflicting reports on the reasons behind the release. The situation remains tense as Israel grapples with managing its goals and handling the ongoing conflict.
