LASTMA saves 2 trapped under mini truck

Last week, a heroic rescue by the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) made headlines as they saved a driver and his assistant trapped under a mini truck loaded with pure water. The accident, near Adeniji inward Sura, involved a pure water mini truck and two Mazda vehicles, resulting from brake failure on the part of the mini truck driver. Despite efforts to educate motorists on speed limits and vehicle maintenance, drivers continue to violate the law.

In response, Mr. Sola Giwa, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Transportation, urged all drivers to prioritize safety by avoiding speeding and ensuring regular vehicle checks. The injured driver and his assistant were swiftly taken to the hospital, while LASTMA cleared the accident vehicles promptly to restore traffic flow.

Giwa emphasized the necessity of safe driving practices and extended sympathies to those affected. He reminded all motorists, especially truck operators, to adhere to speed limits both within and outside Lagos. The incident serves as a reminder of the importance of driving responsibly and maintaining vehicles to prevent such accidents.
