Joint Turkish, Romanian, and Bulgarian Navy MCM group convenes meeting

BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 1. A crucial meeting took place in Istanbul between members of the Mine Countermeasures Naval Task Force from Türkiye, Romania, and Bulgaria. The Turkish Ministry of Defense announced the signing of agreements for joint work in the Black Sea to address mine threats.

The creation of the Mine Countermeasures Task Force in the Black Sea (MCM BLACK SEA) aims to ensure the region’s safety from potential mine threats. The Task Force Committee convened in Istanbul to sign a document outlining collaborative activities on July 1.

Notable attendees at the signing ceremony included Admiral Ercument Tatlioglu of the Turkish Navy, Rear Admiral Mihai Panait of the Romanian Navy, and Rear Admiral Kiril Mikhailov of the Bulgarian Navy. This partnership signifies a unified effort among nations to safeguard the Black Sea and enhance maritime security in the region.
