Unlocking the Secrets of Nigeria’s Defence Intelligence Agency
Joining Nigeria’s Defence Intelligence Agency (DIA) or pursuing further academic studies at the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) was a tough decision for Mukhtar Ya’u Madobi. Opting for academia, he gained insights into the DIA during an interview under Major General Samuel A. Adebayo (retd).
The professionalism and discretion displayed by the DIA impressed Mukhtar, who later participated in the National Security Course on Psychological Operations and Strategic Communication (NSCPOSC-1). This course highlighted the agency’s commitment to holistic security solutions through engagement with various stakeholders.
Mukhtar commends the DIA’s achievements under Chief of Defence Intelligence Major General Emmanuel Packer Undiandeye, especially in intelligence support, infrastructure development, and education initiatives. The agency’s success in counter-terrorism operations and insurgency battles further underscores its crucial role in national security efforts.
As a young writer and researcher, Mukhtar emphasizes the importance of recognizing and supporting the DIA’s covert yet effective contributions to safeguarding Nigeria. He believes that the agency’s discreet approach should not undermine its efficiency and dedication in protecting the nation against emerging security threats.
