An Egyptian source said Cairo also rejects any Israeli supervision at the Rafah crossing.

Egypt has rejected deploying its forces in Gaza Strip, refusing Israeli involvement at the Rafah crossing, according to high-level sources reported by Anadolu news agency.

The state-affiliated Al-Qahera News channel confirmed Egypt’s stance, emphasizing that Gaza’s situation post-Israeli military action is a Palestinian concern.

Cairo communicated that the release of Israeli captives and cease of military offense should occur through a permanent ceasefire and hostage swap agreement.

Hamas demands a lasting ceasefire as a prerequisite for any hostage exchange, a condition opposed by Israel.

‘Complete Withdrawal’

Egypt also rejects Israeli oversight at Rafah crossing, insisting on the Israeli army’s complete pullback from the Palestinian side.

Amid the ongoing conflict, the death toll in Gaza continues to rise, with thousands of Palestinians wounded and displaced, contributing to a severe humanitarian crisis in the region.
