Belgrade police nab crossbow-wielding man post embassy attack

Belgrade police arrested a man carrying a crossbow and other weapons near a police station two days after a crossbow attack at the Israeli embassy. The man, who had a backpack with a crossbow, knives, and firecrackers, was apprehended after attempting to evade officers. Police are investigating his motives and searching his apartment.

The suspect was not on the government’s list of potential extremists. He claimed to be pursued by the mafia and secret services. Police have stated that further medical examinations and actions will be decided by the prosecutor. The attacker, identified as a Serbian convert to Islam, was killed by an officer at the scene.
