Netanyahu Takes Action Against Absent Ministers
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has had enough of ministers skipping cabinet meetings without permission. Recent absences by government officials prompted Netanyahu to implement sanctions for those who fail to attend the weekly gathering. Among the absentees were Yoav Gallant, Miri Regev, Moshe Arbel, Itamar Ben-Gvir, and Mai Golan.
During the meeting, Netanyahu expressed his frustration, stating, “If I can come, you can too.” He emphasized the importance of attendance at government meetings and instructed Cabinet Secretary Yossi Fuchs to implement a procedure where ministers must seek approval in advance for any absence.
The new protocol indicates that ministers who miss meetings without permission will be restricted from traveling the following quarter. This initiative demonstrates Netanyahu’s determination to maintain order and discipline within his government, particularly during this time of national significance and crisis.
By taking a strong stance on ministerial attendance, Netanyahu aims to assert his leadership and ensure greater accountability among his team.
