The Lok Sabha poll results in Bihar have given hope to the Left, which has largely disappeared from its old strongholds. The recent victories of CPI (M-L) Liberation in two Lok Sabha seats in Bihar represent a resurgence of Left politics in the state. Sudama Prasad and Raja Ram Singh, both from humble backgrounds, clinched surprising victories in Arrah and Karakat, respectively.
Bihar has a history of radical Left movements, dating back to the Naxalite uprising in the late 1960s. The recent successes of the Left parties in Bihar can be attributed to their focus on local issues and grassroots campaigning. These victories signify a potential shift in the political landscape of the Hindi belt, with the Left gaining momentum.
Despite facing challenges, the CPI (M-L) Liberation has managed to establish a strong foothold in Bihar, winning seats in both the Lok Sabha and Assembly elections. The resurgence of Left politics in Bihar is a significant development that could have far-reaching implications in the state’s political scenario.
