Iran, Turkmenistan Food Industry Trade Surges by 35%

Iran Press/Iran news: The Head of Central Asia, Caucasus, and Russia Office of the TPOI Akbar Godari, highlighted the growing trade relations between Iran and Turkmenistan, especially in the agricultural products and food industries. Trade in these sectors saw a significant increase in the first two months of this year, with the trade value reaching 74 million dollars in 1402 (2023), showing a 35% growth compared to the previous year.

Godari emphasized the potential of the Turkmen market for Iranian products and praised the efforts of the 13th government of Iran in prioritizing the expansion of trade with neighbors to offset sanctions and boost Iranian exports. The successful consultations between Iran and Turkmenistan have made the latter a key target market for Iranian exports.

The head of the Iran Trade Development Organization’s Central Asia, Caucasus, and Russia office also highlighted the strong growth in trade with Turkmenistan over recent years, with trade reaching 446 million dollars in the last year alone.
