Minister Attaullah Tarar: General Election to be Held in 2029

Minister for Information, Broadcasting, Culture, and National Heritage Attaullah Tarar stated that the general election in Pakistan would take place in 2029 as per the constitutional tenure of the current government. This announcement came after JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman’s press conference where he demanded fresh elections and rejected the February 8 polls.

Tarar emphasized the importance of negotiations and dialogue in politics and commended Maulana as a seasoned politician. He also highlighted the government’s economic achievements, including the increase in foreign exchange reserves and the stock exchange reaching its highest level.

Responding to Fazlur Rehman’s demands, Tarar reiterated the government’s commitment to addressing concerns through dialogue. He encouraged Maulana to acknowledge the progress made by the government and work together for the betterment of the country.

Despite the controversies surrounding the recent elections, Tarar remained optimistic about the future of Pakistan’s political landscape, emphasizing the need for cooperation and constructive engagement.
