In a shocking incident outside the Israeli embassy in Belgrade, a Serbian police officer was injured in a crossbow attack. The officer bravely fought back and shot the assailant, who ultimately succumbed to his injuries. The attacker, still unidentified, hit the officer in the neck, prompting the swift retaliation.

The injured officer was rushed to the hospital for surgery and is said to be in critical condition. Minister Ivica Dacic revealed that the attacker approached the embassy’s small building, inquiring about a museum before launching the attack with a crossbow.

While the motive behind the attack remains unclear, special prosecutors have taken over the case. Prime Minister Milos Vucevic denounced the incident as an individual crime and an act of insanity with no religious or national affiliations.

Fortunately, no embassy employees were harmed as the embassy was closed at the time of the incident. This attack comes in the wake of tensions following the Gaza war, marking a troubling trend of violence targeting Israeli interests worldwide.
