The 54th General Assembly of the Organization of American States (OAS) concluded with the Declaration of Asunción, focusing on eliminating violence against women, combating climate change, and organized crime. The assembly also supported Argentina’s commitment to peacefully resolve the Malvinas controversy and emphasized the importance of resuming negotiations on sovereignty.

The joint statement highlighted the need to strengthen the fight against organized crime, defend human rights, and address climate change. Despite negotiation dynamics, consensus was reached on resolutions and declarations to promote equality, fair societies, and democratic processes in the region.

Additional resolutions were adopted regarding Haiti, Bolivia, and Nicaragua, emphasizing the protection of human rights, democratic institutions, and socioeconomic development. The Assembly reaffirmed its commitment to sustainable development and prioritizing public policies for environmental protection.
