The Kurdish Independence Movement’s President Denounces Illegal Elections in Occupied Territories
Redif Mustafa, president of the Kurdish Independence Movement, criticized the so-called election plan by the PKK/YPG terror organization in occupied regions, labeling it illegal and lacking legitimacy. He highlighted the PKK’s disregard for the aspirations of Kurds and Arabs, emphasizing that the autonomous administration and its affiliates are branches of the PKK terror group.
Mustafa pointed out that the PKK/YPG uses fabricated laws to legitimize its presence in Syria, aiming to neutralize Kurds and divert attention from the Syrian revolution. He stressed that the Constitution of Syria should be drafted by the national administration or the Syrian people, not by unauthorized groups.
Furthermore, Mustafa condemned the PKK/YPG for targeting the Syrian Kurdish National Council (ENKS) and employing terror tactics similar to ISIS. He called on residents in occupied territories to take action to defend their interests and future.
The PKK/YPG’s attempt to hold local elections was postponed to August following warnings from Türkiye against establishing a terror state in the region.
