Is Putin Prompt for US Presidential Debate? Here’s What Kremlin Spokesman Revealed

The Russian president’s spokesperson, Dmitry Peskov, dismissed the idea of Putin waking up early to watch the recent US presidential debate between Biden and Trump. Peskov stated that US debates are not a top priority for Putin, and he would not set an alarm to watch such events due to the time difference.

Peskov emphasized that domestic US politics are not a concern for Russia, and analyzing the candidates’ statements is an internal matter for the US. The Kremlin will not publicly evaluate the debate’s outcome to avoid interference in foreign domestic affairs.

The Trump-Biden debate touched on accusations of ‘encouraging’ Putin, with both candidates blaming each other for being soft on Moscow. The 2020 clash has been labeled a disappointment for Biden by US media, with many agreeing that Trump outperformed him.

The ‘Russiagate’ narrative, alleging collusion between Russia and Trump in the 2016 election, was also highlighted. However, the Mueller investigation found no evidence of such collusion, suggesting it may have been a Democratic Party ploy to explain Clinton’s defeat.
