Israel has issued strong warnings to Lebanon, threatening to send the country “back to the Stone Age” amid escalating tensions. The threat comes as daily exchanges of fire between Israeli forces and Hezbollah-backed militias continue along the border.

Fears of a full-blown war have intensified, with cross-border attacks heightening tensions. Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant stated that while Israel does not seek war, the country is prepared for every scenario and could cause significant damage to Lebanon if necessary.

The United States, a key ally of Israel, is engaged in diplomatic efforts to prevent a major escalation. U.S. Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin warned of “terrible consequences for the Middle East” if conflict were to occur and urged for a peaceful resolution.

As tensions rise, Germany and Canada have advised their citizens to leave Lebanon due to the volatile situation. The U.S. Embassy in Beirut also issued a security alert, warning against travel to certain areas in Lebanon.

Humanitarian coordinator Martin Griffiths described the situation in Lebanon as “potentially apocalyptic,” emphasizing the need for de-escalation to prevent a wider regional conflict.
