Iran’s wheat purchases from local farmers have reached 5.575 million tons this year, marking an 8% increase from last year’s figures. So far, the government has paid over $692 million to farmers, nearly half of the total amount owed.
Khuzestan province leads in wheat supply with 1.6 million tons, followed by Golestan, Fars, and Ilam. The total estimated wheat harvest for the year is between 14.5 and 15.5 million tons, enough to meet domestic needs.
