Exploring Russia’s Role in the Gaza Conflict: Insights from Hamas

Mousa Abu Marzouk, the Deputy Head of Hamas’ Political Bureau, recently discussed Russia’s potential involvement in the Gaza conflict and highlighted the movement’s perspectives in a exclusive interview with Al-Jazeera in Moscow.

During his visit to Moscow, Abu Marzouk emphasized the importance of Russia’s role in preventing the escalation of Israel’s conflict in Gaza, pointing to Russia’s alliances in the region.

He also acknowledged Russia’s historical support for Palestinian self-determination and suggested that the country could play a more active role, especially given its presence in Syria and relations with Iran.

Abu Marzouk further discussed the need for international support for a permanent ceasefire and highlighted the challenges faced by the Palestinian Authority in achieving national unity amidst external pressures.
