Biden to Send $150M in Weapons to Ukraine

Joe Biden about BH telegram.hr

The Biden administration is set to provide Ukraine with a $150 million arms aid package, including HAWK air defense interceptors and 155mm artillery ammunition, in response to Russia’s recent airstrikes on Ukrainian energy facilities. The move comes after desperate requests from Ukraine for air defense support.

The package, expected to be announced on Monday, will also include other ammunition and equipment to bolster Ukraine’s military capabilities. The US had started delivering HAWK interceptor missiles to Ukraine in 2022 as an upgrade to existing systems.

The MIM-23 HAWK, introduced in the ’50s, has been upgraded over the years to counter jamming and other challenges. This arms aid package, which will come from presidential authorization, underscores US support for its allies in the face of aggression.

With tensions high between Ukraine and Russia, this aid is crucial in helping Ukraine defend itself and deter further aggression. The US remains committed to supporting its allies and ensuring stability in the region.
