Seven Countries Advise Nationals to Leave Lebanon Amid Tensions
Amid growing concerns of a potential war between Israel and Hezbollah in Lebanon, seven countries have urged their citizens to leave the country. Saudi Arabia, Australia, the Netherlands, Germany, Canada, North Macedonia, and Kuwait have all issued warnings to their nationals. Saudi Arabia’s embassy in Beirut specifically called on its citizens to depart immediately.
Australia’s Foreign Minister Penny Wong advised Australian citizens to leave Lebanon as soon as possible, citing the volatile security situation. The Dutch Foreign Ministry, German Foreign Ministry, and Canadian government also emphasized the need for their nationals to leave Lebanon due to the tense situation.
Other countries, including the US, UK, Russia, Ireland, and Jordan, have advised against travel to Lebanon or specific areas within the country. Tensions along the Lebanese-Israeli border have escalated, prompting these advisories to ensure the safety of their citizens.
The situation remains fluid, and travelers are urged to stay informed and follow official guidance from their respective governments.
