Russian troops attacked the town of Vilniansk in Zaporizhzhia Oblast on June 29, resulting in seven fatalities, including two children, and at least 18 injuries, according to Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko. Vilniansk, located about 30 kilometers from Zaporizhzhia, experienced multiple explosions following an air raid alert.
The attack caused damage to critical infrastructure, a store, and residential buildings, as reported by Zaporizhzhia Oblast Governor Ivan Fedorov. President Volodymyr Zelensky emphasized the need to combat such strikes by destroying terrorists, targeting Russian missile launchers, using long-range weapons, and enhancing Ukraine’s air defense systems.
Russian troops have also targeted seven settlements in Zaporizhzhia Oblast 314 times in the past day. In a separate incident, a nine-story residential building in downtown Dnipro was hit, resulting in casualties and trapped individuals.
