Another Attempt to Evade Conviction?
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has reportedly sought US President Joe Biden’s intervention to prevent the ICC from issuing arrest warrants against senior Israeli officials responsible for war crimes in the Gaza Strip, as per Axios.
Despite ongoing investigations by the ICC into war crimes in Gaza since 2014, no punitive decisions have been made against individuals involved.
A spokesperson for the White House National Security Council declined to comment on the specifics of Netanyahu’s call with Biden but reiterated the US’s stance that the ICC has no jurisdiction in this case.
