Strong voter turnout in Iran reaches peak

Iran’s Interim President Reports Robust Voter Turnout in Presidential Election

Iran’s interim president, Mohammad Mokhber, announced that initial reports from polling stations show a strong voter turnout in the country’s presidential election. Speaking to reporters during a visit to Lorzadeh Mosque in Tehran, Mokhber emphasized that the government has ensured a secure environment for the electoral process.

The snap election was called following the untimely death of former President Ebrahim Raiesi in a helicopter crash. Over 61 million eligible voters are participating in the election at more than 58,000 polling stations across the country. Results are expected to be projected early Saturday with official results by Sunday.

Interior Minister Ahmad Vahidi urged citizens to vote early and assured them of a fair and safe election process. He highlighted the importance of elections as a demonstration of religious democracy in Iran.
