Sindh Chief Minister wraps up debate on provincial budget 2024-25
Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah concluded the discussion on the provincial budget 2024-25, highlighting the government’s priorities, future projects, and the overall economic, political, and social situation in the province. The budget debate saw active participation from 131 members in a congenial atmosphere.
In addition, the Sindh Assembly unanimously approved a Rs213 billion supplementary budget to cover additional expenses incurred by various ministries and departments during the fiscal year 2023-24. Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah presented 55 demands for grants, which were approved without any opposition.
The supplementary budget reflected an expenditure of Rs213.164 billion over the original allocation for the budget 2023-24. The session saw a rare display of restraint from the opposition benches, with Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah emphasizing the government’s commitment to development in the province.
The discussion also highlighted significant achievements in various sectors, including healthcare, infrastructure, and urban development, while addressing ongoing challenges such as water scarcity and transportation infrastructure.
