Russia Warns of Risks with US Drone Flights Over Black Sea

Russia says US drone flights over Black Sea risk direct clash

Russia issued a warning to the United States regarding drone flights over the Black Sea, citing the potential for direct confrontation with NATO. Tensions escalated after Russia accused Ukraine of a deadly missile strike on Crimea, leading to increased surveillance flights over the region.

The Russian defense ministry highlighted the frequency of U.S. drone flights over the Black Sea, claiming these drones were gathering information for Ukrainian weapons planning to target Russian interests. This raised concerns of direct conflict between Russia and NATO, prompting the army to prepare for possible responses.

Despite the U.S. conducting routine drone flights in the area, Russia expressed disdain over Washington’s involvement in the Ukraine conflict. Following Ukraine’s attack on Sevastopol and subsequent strikes on Russian infrastructure, tensions between the two nations heightened.

Russia vows consequences for such actions, denouncing them as “bloody crimes” fuelled by Western support. The situation remains volatile, with both sides on edge as the risk of direct confrontation looms.
