Israel’s Strike Kills 11 in Rafah Safe Zone

Israeli Forces Target Palestinian Tent Camp, Killing 11

Reports from the Palestinian WAFA news agency confirm that at least 11 Palestinians lost their lives and 40 others sustained injuries in an attack on a tent camp in Rafah. The targeted camp, located in the designated safe zone of al-Mawasi, was struck by Israeli forces, causing widespread devastation.

Many Palestinians sought refuge in the encampment following military operations by the Israel Defense Forces in Rafah earlier in May. Despite the IDF denying any involvement in the attack on al-Mawasi, the situation remains dire for the residents.

The violence in Gaza has escalated, with tanks advancing and control zones expanding. The ongoing conflict has left over 74 staff of the Palestinian Civil Emergency Service dead and countless civilians at risk of famine.

Israel’s repeated attacks on safe zones, schools, and aid facilities have raised concerns about violations of international law and human rights. The gravity of the situation underscores the urgent need for a peaceful resolution to the conflict.
