Satellite images reveal the destruction caused by Israeli air strikes in the Lebanese village of Aita al-Shaab, a Hezbollah stronghold. The images captured at least 64 sites with multiple buildings in ruins. Located in south Lebanon, the village has been heavily targeted due to the conflict between Israel and Hezbollah, escalating to their worst confrontation in 18 years.
The fighting, triggered by the Gaza war and escalating since, has resulted in widespread damage and displacement of thousands of people. Aita al-Shaab has witnessed significant destruction, similar to that of the 2006 war, according to reports.
While Israel claims self-defense, Hezbollah asserts its role in displacing Israeli civilians across the border. The village’s strategic importance in the conflict is evident, with Hezbollah using it as a frontline defense against Israel. The intense bombardment has rendered the area uninhabitable, with residents fleeing and homes destroyed.
As the conflict continues, concerns grow over the possibility of a full-scale war between the two adversaries, emphasizing the enduring threat of the escalating situation.
