The Federal Government recently inaugurated a Ministerial Task Force in Abuja to tackle illegal private charter operations in the aviation industry. Led by Minister Festus Keyamo, the task force aims to address the persisting issue of illegal charters by Private Non-Commercial Flight (PNCF) holders despite existing regulations.

The committee will assess pilot licenses, recommend sanctions for defaulters, and monitor private aircraft activities in Nigeria. Keyamo emphasized the importance of restoring confidence in the aviation sector and promoting safety and legality in all flights.

With concerns about money laundering and illicit activities through private aircraft on the rise, the task force’s proactive measures seek to combat these issues and ensure the industry’s integrity. Capt. Ado Sanusi, as Chairman, expressed confidence in the task force’s ability to achieve its objectives effectively.

This initiative aligns with Keyamo’s five-point agenda focusing on safety, infrastructure, local operator support, human capacity development, and revenue generation in the aviation industry.
