At least 157 people were killed after a strong earthquake hit a remote pocket of Nepal last November.
Nearly 9,000 people died in 2015 when a 7.8-magnitude quake struck Nepal, destroying more than half a million homes.

4.2 Magnitude Earthquake Hits Nepal
An earthquake with a magnitude of 4.2 struck Nepal’s Bagmati Province near Kathmandu. The epicenter was in Helambu Rural Municipality, Sindhupalchowk district, about 100 km east of Kathmandu, hitting at 7:03 am on Friday.
Tremors were felt in Kathmandu and surrounding areas, but fortunately, no damage has been reported so far. Nepal is prone to earthquakes due to its location on a major geological faultline. The region often experiences seismic activity.
In past incidents, Nepal has faced significant devastation from earthquakes. For example, in 2015, a 7.8-magnitude quake claimed nearly 9,000 lives and destroyed over half a million homes. Last November, a strong earthquake led to the loss of 157 lives in a remote part of Nepal.
Authorities are monitoring the situation closely to ensure the safety of residents and provide assistance if needed.
