Recent American media reports have revealed that the United States has provided “security aid” to Israel totaling more than USD 6 billion since October 7. Following the recent attack on settlements near the Gaza border, the US extended security aid valued at over USD 6.5 billion to Israel, as reported by The Washington Post.
In April, the US House of Representatives approved a substantial legislative package worth USD 95 billion, aimed at providing security assistance to Ukraine, Israel, and Taiwan. This package included USD 17 billion in defense aid for Israel and roughly USD 9 billion for humanitarian relief for war-affected areas like Gaza.
Additionally, US officials have informally notified congressional committees of their intention to advance new arms deals for Israel worth over USD 1 billion, including tank shells, mortars, and armored tactical vehicles.
Despite this aid, US President Joe Biden has delayed a shipment of munitions to Israel over concerns about their potential use in Gaza. Senior US officials have also expressed criticism towards Israel for the high number of civilian casualties in the region.
