Ukraine signed 10-year bilateral security agreements with Estonia and Lithuania at the recent Brussels summit. This move aims to strengthen Kyiv’s defense against Russian aggression. The agreements follow a pledge made by the Group of Seven (G7) last July.
In addition to the security deals, Kyiv also signed an agreement with the European Union on the same day. Estonia and Lithuania have committed to providing long-term military and financial support to Ukraine, including defense aid and allocating a percentage of their GDP annually for military support.
The agreements outline the types of military assistance that Estonia and Lithuania will provide, as well as plans for strategic dialogues and cooperation in security and defense issues.
Lithuania also pledged support in various spheres, including land, air, maritime, space, and cyber, highlighting the joint efforts to counter hybrid threats and strengthen critical infrastructure protection.
Overall, these agreements mark a significant step in enhancing Ukraine’s security and defense capabilities against external threats.
