The Dubai Taxi Corporation, owned by the government of the UAE, is set to hire 1,300 cab and motorcycle drivers from Bangladesh this year, according to State Minister for Overseas Employment Shofiqur Rahman Choudhury. This announcement came after a meeting with Abdulla Ali Khaseif AlHmoudi, the UAE ambassador to Bangladesh.
Shofiqur stated that during his visit to the UAE in May, he had discussions with the top 16 companies that recruit manpower from Bangladesh, including Dubai Taxi Corporation. The corporation has already initiated the recruitment process for skilled workers from Bangladesh, with a plan to hire 1,000 motorcyclists and 300 cab drivers this year.
In addition, the UAE has also pledged to hire 2,000 drivers starting next year. UAE Ambassador AlHmoudi emphasized the strong bilateral relations between the two nations, highlighting the importance of skilled manpower in further strengthening ties. He mentioned plans to increase the number of drivers to 2,000 next year, with workers receiving fair compensation as per UAE labor laws.
