Turkish security forces successfully eliminated seven PKK/YPG terrorists in northern Syria, as announced by the National Defense Ministry. The operation took place in the Operation Euphrates Shield zone, demonstrating Turkey’s commitment to combating terrorism in the region.
The ministry praised the Turkish Armed Forces for their heroic efforts in neutralizing the terrorists, emphasizing the importance of maintaining peace and security in northern Syria. The term “neutralize” is used by Turkish authorities to indicate that the terrorists either surrendered, were captured, or killed.
Since 2016, Ankara has conducted multiple successful anti-terror operations in northern Syria to prevent the establishment of a PKK/YPG terror corridor. These operations, including Euphrates Shield, Olive Branch, and Peace Spring, aim to protect the local population and ensure stability in the region.
With the PKK responsible for thousands of deaths in its decades-long terror campaign, Turkey remains steadfast in its fight against terrorism. The YPG, a Syrian offshoot of the PKK, poses a significant threat to regional security and stability.
