Dmitry Rogozin, a Russian official overseeing the occupation of Zaporizhzhia Oblast, recently called for the complete destruction of Ukrainian culture and history. This alarming rhetoric falls in line with a pattern of aggression and violence directed at Ukraine by Russian forces.
The Russian onslaught has resulted in numerous war crimes, including the destruction of cultural heritage sites and the abduction of Ukrainian children. The International Criminal Court has issued arrest warrants for top Russian officials involved in these crimes. Furthermore, the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe passed resolutions condemning Russia’s “Russification” policy in Ukraine.
