Brigadier General Esmail Qa’ani, the commander of the Quds Force of Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC), recently praised the late president Ebrahim Raeisi and foreign minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian for their dedication to resistance and the fight against US hegemony. Speaking at a ceremony in Tehran, Qa’ani highlighted the remarkable qualities of Raeisi and Amir-Abdollahian, who tragically passed away in a helicopter crash in May.
Qa’ani lauded Amir-Abdollahian for his unwavering courage and described him as the “sonorous voice” of the resistance front. He emphasized that the actions of these leaders demonstrated Iran’s ability to challenge major world powers and protect its sovereignty against adversaries like Israel and the US.
Meanwhile, Major General Hossein Salami, the chief commander of the IRGC, praised Raeisi for dismantling the West’s policy of isolating and sanctioning Iran. As Iran gears up for presidential elections, the nation is set to choose a new leader who will continue the legacy of resistance and strength.
As the 14th administration since the Islamic Revolution, the new president will take office in late June or early July and serve a four-year term. The upcoming elections represent an opportunity for Iranians to assert their independence and overcome external threats.
