Kenyan Government imposes movement restrictions in Kakuma Refugee Camp and Kalobeyei Settlement
The Kenyan government has enforced strict movement restrictions in Kakuma Refugee Camp and Kalobeyei Settlement after 10 people were killed in clashes between South Sudanese communities earlier this week. The restrictions, implemented on Wednesday, prohibit movement between the two areas from dusk to dawn.
Edwira Chibari, the Camp Manager of Kakuma Camps, issued a letter outlining the new rules to ensure the safety and security of all residents in the wake of the violent incidents. This action aims to prevent further escalation of violence and protect individuals living in the refugee camp and settlement.
