Israeli military assaults in Gaza have resulted in over 100,000 casualties, devastating infrastructure. However, attention must also be drawn to ongoing crises in the West Bank and East Jerusalem. Since October 7, 2023, Israeli forces have killed 544 Palestinians and injured over 5,200, including many children. The UN Human Rights Office has condemned the violence and called for an immediate end to human rights violations.

The Jewish Voice for Peace Health Advisory Council highlights urgent concerns, including intensified land incursions, unprovoked lethal force against protestors, airstrikes causing civilian casualties, targeted assassinations, settler attacks, demolitions, and economic hardships. The US government’s silence on these violations of international law is concerning.

The Council calls for accountability, an impartial investigation, and an end to US funding of Israel’s military. Healthcare workers are urged to speak out and contact elected officials to address the humanitarian crisis faced by Palestinians.
