In a fiery speech on Wednesday, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan accused Western powers of supporting Israeli plans to attack Lebanon, warning that such actions could lead to a disastrous regional war. Erdogan criticized Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for his alleged intentions to escalate conflict in the region.

The escalating tensions between Israel and Lebanon’s Hezbollah have raised concerns about the possibility of a full-fledged war breaking out. Netanyahu has claimed that Israeli forces are preparing for defensive measures along the northern border.

Turkey’s Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan also issued a warning to Greece and Cyprus, cautioning them against involvement in the Middle East conflict. Fidan cited reports of military activities in southern Cyprus that could potentially escalate the situation.

Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah also warned Cyprus against aiding Israel in targeting Lebanon, while the Cypriot government denied any involvement in the conflict.

Erdogan’s accusations and warnings add to the growing tensions in the region, highlighting the complex geopolitical dynamics at play.
